Years Apart

Where does it fall?

From

To

Slide it along the ruler to where you think it falls.

How to play

  1. A ruler runs from one real event to another: the older one on the left, the newer one on the right.
  2. A third event happened somewhere in between. Slide it to where you think it falls, then tap Measure it.
  3. The years appear, and you see how many years off you were.

One line a day, the same for everyone. A new one arrives at midnight.

The years

They stay hidden until you measure. A year marked "about" is not known exactly; such a date is only used where it hardly moves the answer.

Where the dates come from

Every date is checked against two sources, linked under the answer.
