Logicers

So-Called Expert Pass the phone

Five facts. One is invented.

Take turns as the expert. You get five facts about a country, and Logicers invented one of them. Sell all five as true. The others try to spot the fake.

Players 3

3 to 8 players · one phone · each of you is the expert once · 2 to 3 minutes a turn

Who is playing?

Names are optional. Sit in this order: the phone goes round, and each of you is the expert once.

How to play

  1. The phone says who is the expert of the turn: hand it over, and the expert taps to say they have it. Only the expert looks: the card shows five facts about a country, and a stamp on the one Logicers invented.
  2. The expert presents all five as true, in their own words, and takes up to three questions.
  3. The expert puts the phone in the middle. On three, everyone else points at the fact they think is invented.
  4. Reveal it, and tap who found it. Each of them gets a point; the expert gets a point for each player fooled.
  5. The phone goes round until each of you has been the expert once. Most points wins.

Where the facts come from

Four facts on every card are true. Each was checked on two websites, or comes from the World Bank's open data (World Development Indicators, under the CC BY 4.0 licence) or from the lists of One of 193, which were checked on two websites each. Their sources are linked after every turn. The fifth fact was invented on purpose: the game always marks it as invented by Logicers and shows the truth with its sources. The World Bank does not endorse this site.
